SUMMARY
Perform skilled work involving ballet class instruction. Classes include Creative Dance up to pre-ballet technique classes.
Hourly rate will be commensurate with experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Knowledge of:
• Age-appropriate movement and dance
• Basic ballet teaching skills needed; training for specific levels is available.
• Managing a room of young children in a positive and inclusive manner
• Various genres of movement and dance styles
• Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with students, families, faculty, and staff
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing and keep internal T.U.P.A.C. information confidential.
• Ability to represent T.U.P.A.C. in a friendly, courteous and professional manner
• Must be a team player; must follow covid protocol
• Must be able to work evenings and Saturdays
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, dance, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required to do the job include the ability to evaluate and correct athletic form by using the eye. May be required to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.

All teaching is in person unless covid restrictions are in place for remote teaching. This job requires skilled work performing ballet class instruction. Classes include Ballet Levels 2, Academy 1, pointe, and variations.
Hourly rate will be commensurate with experience.

Knowledge of:
• Ballet performing experience at any age is a plus
• Ballet technique for ages 13+ including advanced ballet technique, variations, and pointe training.
• 3-5 years ballet teaching skills needed; teaching all levels of ballet is a plus
• Managing a room of children in a positive and inclusive manner
• Experience and willingness to follow a strict syllabus even if your training is different
• Various genres of movement and dance styles to reference is a plus
• Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with students, families, faculty, and staff
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing and keep internal T.U.P.A.C. information confidential.
• Ability to represent T.U.P.A.C. in a friendly, courteous and professional manner
• Must be a team player: must follow covid protocol
• Must be able to work evenings and Saturdays; possibly weekday morning adult ballet classes
