At Tacoma Urban Performing Arts Center, we are committed to providing a high-quality ballet education to students of all ages and skill levels. Our experienced teachers are dedicated to helping each student achieve their individual goals and reach their full potential.
We offer a wide range of classes, from beginner to advanced levels, in classical ballet, contemporary dance, and more. Our classes are designed to challenge and inspire our students, and to help them develop their technique and artistry.
Our new state-of-the-art facilities include spacious dance studios that convert to a Black Box Theatre, dressing rooms, administrative offices, art gallery lobby, box office, a comfortable waiting area for parents and guardians.
We are committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all of our students.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goal to build our new performing arts studio on Hilltop in the Tacoma Housing Authority's new Affordable Housing Complex on L and S 11th St. This includes the state-of-the-art Black Box Theatrer to bring Hilltop a venue for Live Performance Art.

Your time and involvement play a vital role in advancing our mission and elevating the lives of children, teens, and young adults in the Hilltop community. If you are eager to make a difference and ready to invest your time in building a brighter future for our community, we invite you to apply today.Our Volunteers receive COMP Tickets to our productions and events, T.U.P.A.C. Branded Swag, have performance opportunities and a fun and festive annual Volunteer Appreciation Party.
We need volunteers in the following areas to help us grow:
Administration, Community Ambassadors, Special Events, Ballet and Stage Productions, Social Media Stars, Bartender/Concessions, Merchandising. The studio is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Classes are from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Saturday’s 9 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. and the occasional Sunday. Performances, Special Events and off campus events may necessitate hours outside of those times
All volunteer applications are reviewed with consideration to current volunteer opportunities and all information will be kept confidential.

Ensure our diverse and under-served youth of Tacoma are able to explore the joy of classical ballet and the performing arts in an inclusive and empowering skill building environment.
Most of our students are on financial scholarship. A donation of any amount can help pay for student's tuition and costumes or even go toward the monthly cost of maintaining ballet shoes and tights.
