 Your time and involvement  play a vital role in advancing our mission and elevating the  lives of children, teens, and young adults in the Hilltop  community. If you are eager to make a difference and ready to  invest your time in building a brighter future for our community,  we invite you to apply today.Our Volunteers receive COMP  Tickets to our productions and events, T.U.P.A.C. Branded Swag, have performance opportunities and a fun and festive  annual Volunteer Appreciation Party.  

  

We need  volunteers in the following areas to help us grow:  

Administration, Community Ambassadors, Special Events, Ballet and Stage Productions, Social Media Stars, Bartender/Concessions, Merchandising. The studio is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Classes are from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Saturday’s 9 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. and the occasional Sunday. Performances, Special Events and off campus events may necessitate hours outside of those times


 All volunteer applications are reviewed with  consideration to current volunteer opportunities and all information will be  kept confidential.

Volunteer Position: School Performance Coordinator (SCP)
Reports to:  Artistic/School Director
Job Summary
Oversees communication and logistics for all T.U.P.A.C. School performances, both on- and off-campus.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Evaluate performance requests and coordinate logistics with the School Director.
  • Communicate performance details with parents, teaching artists, partners, and venues.
  • Seek and cultivate performance opportunities with new and existing partners.
  • Track performance progress and ensure contract compliance and payments.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Familiarity with the needs of diverse dance students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and word processing tools.
  • Preferred experience in project management and business contracts.

Physical Demands / Work Environment

  • Must pass a background check.
  • Passion for the performing arts and experience working with BIPOC and intergenerational artists.
  • Strong commitment to DEI and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Volunteer Position: Associate Producer (AP)
Reports to: Producer, Director & Curator of T.U.P.A.C.’s Live Performance Productions
Volunteer Summary
Supports the Producer, Director & Curator in maintaining production quality, managing communications, and leading performers during rehearsals and performances.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain absolute confidentiality while working with professional artists and creatives.
  • Relay communications between producer, director, choreographers, and guest artists.
  • Assist the director during rehearsals and performances; lead rehearsals when needed.
  • Encourage performers and maintain a positive rehearsal environment.
  • Coordinate backstage instructions and logistics during shows.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Passion and experience in the performing arts.
  • Experience working with BIPOC and intergenerational artists.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to DEI.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.

Physical Demands / Work Environment

  • Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
  • May involve pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying objects up to 35 lbs.
  • Noise levels may be high during performances.
  • Accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.

Volunteer Position: Print Materials Coordinator
Reports to: Executive Assistant
Job Summary
Creates and manages printed promotional materials for T.U.P.A.C. performances, ensuring timely delivery, accuracy, and brand consistency.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Gather and verify content from staff for print materials.
  • Participate in monthly department meetings to support campaign planning.
  • Communicate effectively and align with T.U.P.A.C.’s mission and values.
  • Adhere to all bylaws, policies, procedures, and member agreements.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Experience writing or editing print content.
  • Basic graphic design skills or comfort with drag-and-drop tools.
  • Ability to write concise, on-brand copy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Physical Demands / Work Environment

  • Requires use of hands and arms for handling materials and equipment.
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision, plus depth perception.
  • Noise level varies based on setting or event.
  • Reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.

Volunteer Position: Electronics Coordinator
Reports to: Executive Assistant
Job Summary
Documents, tracks, and manages the use of laptops, PCs, projectors, and other electronic equipment. Ensures all technology resources are maintained and available for staff and volunteers.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory using a detailed spreadsheet.
  • Coordinate equipment setup between storage, studios, and venues.
  • Track electronics loaned to staff and volunteers, ensuring timely return and maintenance.
  • Manage routine maintenance and procurement of new or replacement equipment.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet and word processing software.
  • Basic repair and hand tool competency.
  • Familiarity with current electronics and maintenance best practices.

Physical Demands / Work Environment

  • Must pass a background check.
  • Requires walking, speaking, hearing, reaching, and handling equipment.
  • Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
  • May involve lifting items up to 25 lbs.
  • Noise levels vary depending on location.
  • Accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Passion for and experience in the performing arts.
  • Experience working with BIPOC and intergenerational artists.
  • Strong communication skills and commitment to DEI.
  • Ability to remain composed under pressure.

Volunteer Position: Donor Cultivation Coordinator
Reports to: Executive Director & Artistic/School Director
Job Summary
Engages and nurtures donor relationships using T.U.P.A.C.’s Donor Management System. Fosters long-term support through timely acknowledgments, accurate records, and communication.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Send acknowledgments to first-time and major donors.
  • Deliver annual donor receipts and fundraising/performance updates.
  • Encourage engagement and upward movement on T.U.P.A.C.’s Donor Recognition Chart.
  • Maintain accurate donor records.
  • Notify leadership when personal outreach is appropriate.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Experience with donor communications preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing, and donor tools.

Physical Demands / Work Environment

  • Must pass a background check.
  • Passion for the performing arts and working with BIPOC/intergenerational communities.
  • Commitment to DEI and ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
